After attending a "Successful Aging" tour for the Amherst H. Wilder Foundation in St. Paul, Minnesota, a Ramsey County commissioner got a firsthand look at how budget cuts affect an organization and became upset about the county's cuts in funding for the local Meals on Wheels program. At the commissioner's instigation, the county restored $132,000 for the programs across the county, said Rolf Thompson, the senior director of resource development for the $43 million health and human services organization.
